Where are you from, and what brought you to the area? I’m from Western Pennsylvania and went to college in Williamsport. I moved down here in 2020 for grad school at UNC and now I work at UNC.
Why do you run? I never imagined that I’d be a runner. In 2024 my best friend somehow convinced me to go to CRC with him. When I realized that it was low stakes I actually had a lot of fun. I made a goal for myself to be able to run one mile without stopping. Once I achieved that I kept setting longer goals until I eventually ran a half marathon in 2025! These days I run for fitness and community (and finisher medals because I’m a collector at heart).
Why did you decide to join Carrboro Run Club, how long have you been running with us, and what keeps you coming back? I started my running journey with CRC! I’ve been running with y’all since January 2024. I keep coming back because it’s a great community. And because I run the instagram haha.

Tell us about your best/worst/weirdest running moment: At the Dairy Dash with CRC in 2025 we ran in Hillsborough shortly after the bad flooding caused by Hurricane Helene. As my friend and I started running down one of the streets we noticed that there was something on the road coming from the manhole cover. It looked like water but once we got closer we realized what it was. We quite literally ran through shit.
Describe the most recent (appropriate ☺) photo you took with your phone: I took a photo of the lego set that some folks put together at work. It’s the dancing figures by Keith Haring who was an artist and AIDS activist.
If you could eat only one meal or food for the rest of your life, what would it be? When I’m at my parents’ house we make marinated chicken with potato/foil packets, all on the grill. Probably that or some variation of it.
What is something you have done recently, or are about to do, that you are proud of? I’m working on being able to do a pull-up and I can already tell how much progress I’m making!
